Announcement from the Holy and Sacred Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate

The Holy and Sacred Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate convened yesterday, on Monday, 26 February 2024, under the presidency of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew.

On this occasion, upon the proposal of the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, as we enter into the Holy Triodion and in anticipation of the Holy and Great Lent, the Holy and Sacred Synod decided, regarding the cases of the Bishops Eirinaios of Evmenia and Damaskinos of Dorylaion, to lift the penalty of confinement imposed on them three months ago by the Synod, restricting them to their respective Holy Monasteries, namely the Monastery of Gouverneto – Lady of the Angels and the Monastery of Agia Triada of Tzagaroli, respectively, which are located in the area of Chania, Crete.
