Adelaide: Program for Lenten Vespers and Holy Confessions by Father Antipas from Mount Athos

The Archdiocesan District of Adelaide makes it known that the last two Lenten Vespers will be celebrated as follows:

• Sunday, 14 April 2024, 6p.m, at the Holy Church of St Spyridon, Unley.
• Sunday, 21 April 2024, 6p.m, at the Holy Church of St Anthony, Prospect.

Both Vespers Services will be officiated by His Grace Bishop Silouan of Sinope.

The Vespers, which will be celebrated at the Church of Saint Anthony, will also be attended by the Reverend Hieromonk Antipas, Elder of the Iviron Cell of St Anna in Karyes of Mount Athos, who will be in Adelaide, receiving the confessions of the faithful according to the attached program, from Wednesday, 17 April 2024, up to and including Sunday, 21 April 2024.

After the Vespers at the Church of Saint Anthony, at 7:00pm, Father Antipas will speak (in Greek) on the topic “to pursue holiness”.

We are all called as faithful to participate in these worship services and make spiritual use of these opportunities that the Church offers us, especially in view of the spiritual period of the Holy and Great Lent, which we find ourselves.
