Greece: Konstantinos Tasoulas to be sworn in as president on Thursday

Newly elected President Konstantinos Tasoulas will be sworn in before Parliament today, Thursday, 13 March 2025.

Tasoulas, a former House speaker, succeeds Katerina Sakellaropoulou in the largely ceremonial role.

Before officially assuming office, he will take an oath before Parliament, pledging to uphold the country’s constitution, abide by its laws, and safeguard the rights and freedoms of the Greek people.

Tasoulas was elected president in February, receiving 160 votes from members of Parliament.
