Greek PM Mitsotakis reaffirms support for Ukraine in Zelensky call

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis reaffirmed Greece’s unwavering support for Ukraine during a telephone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Tuesday, 4 March 2025.

According to a statement from the Greek prime minister’s office, the two leaders discussed latest developments ahead of an extraordinary EU summit in Brussels scheduled for Thursday.

Mitsotakis briefed Zelensky on Greece’s stance leading up to the meeting and reiterated the EU’s commitment to a fair and lasting peace in Ukraine.

He also emphasised that this requires a substantial strengthening of both the EU’s and Ukraine’s defense capabilities, along with continued support from the US.
