Arta: Feast Day of Saint Maximus the Greek and veneration of the Skull of Saint Christophoros Papoulakos
On Monday afternoon, 20 January 2025, at the celebrating Church of Saint Maximus the Greek, in Arta, the Great Vespers on the occasion of the memory of Saint Maximus the Greek from Arta took place, and was officiated by His Eminence Metropolitan Ieronymos of Kalavryta and Aigialeia, who was joined also by His Eminence Metropolitan Kallinikos of Arta.
At the beginning of Vespers service, the Church welcomed the Holy Relics of Saint Christophoros the so-called Panagiotopoulos, known to all of us as Papoulakos, which was brought by His Eminence Metropolitan Ieronymos of Kalavryta and Aigialeia, for veneration, from the Holy Monastery of Mega Spilaios.
The local Shepherd, Metropolitan Kallinikos, thanked His Eminence Metropolitan Ieronymos of Kalavryta and Aigialeia, who preached the Holy Sermon with due inspiration and referred to the struggles, for the love of Christ, of both Saint Maximus the Greek and Saint Christophoros the so-called Panagiotopoulos, known to all of us as Papoulakos.
