The Patriarch of Antioch met with a group of judges from Damascus
His Beatitude Patriarch John X of Antioch met with a group of judges from Damascus and the surrounding areas.
During the meeting, many crucial issues for this phase were discussed, with the affirmation that the constitution is the guarantor of a state based on pluralism, not on the principles of majorities and minorities, protecting the structure of the state itself, its diversity, and the capabilities required for the country’s progress.
The participants also emphasised that the judiciary is a fundamental pillar of the state and an essential component for building a state based on the rule of law, which guarantees real and substantial freedom. The discussion also highlighted the prospects and goals for the next phase, particularly the processes involved in drafting the future constitution and the role of Christians, along with all other components of the country, in drafting the constitution with all its articles, not only those concerning Christians and their specific laws.
The cooperation of Christians with their Muslim brothers protects citizenship in a country where its citizens have always wished to live in its highest form.
