Adelaide: Family Fun Day October 2023
With the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia and with the presence of His Grace Bishop Silouan of Sinope, the St Steven’s Central Youth of the Archdiocesan District of Adelaide organised a Family Fun Day at the Archiepiscopal Parish of St Sophia (The Wisdom of God) on Sunday 22nd of October 2023 at 3:00pm.
Many games were set up for the younger children (with not a few adults and older kids joining in), including mini archery, darts, cricket and soccer. There was also a trip to the nearby park to play some soccer. Meanwhile, the youth used the opportunity to socialise with each other and to participate in a mini Q&A session with His Grace, who answered three questions on spiritual life that were prepared beforehand by the Central Youth as a result of a small survey.
The food and drink was complimentary and served by the Central Youth with the assistance of the St Sophia Philoptochos. Coffee and sweets were also served.
The afternoon was well attended by people of all ages from across Adelaide. The Central Youth are to be commended for their initiative and were encouraged to run similar events again in the future.
