Presidents of USA and Ukraine at the Cathedral of Saint Michael in Kyiv
On Monday, 20 February 2023, President of the United States of America, Mr. Joe Biden, visited Kyiv in a visit of solidarity.
As part of the visit, the President of the United States, Joe Biden, and the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, visited the gilded St. Michael’s Cathedral, where they were welcomed by His Beatitude Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Ukraine, Epiphaniy.
The Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church thanked President Biden for the support he, the people and the government of America provide to Ukraine in the fight against Russian aggression.
In his address, President Biden recalled his previous visit to Kyiv and his visit to St. Michael’s Monastery, as well as his meeting with Metropolitan Epiphaniy in Washington in September 2018.
At the end of the visit, the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church wished the President and the people of America God’s blessings.
Later, at the Memorial Wall of St. Michael’s Monastery, the Presidents of the United States and Ukraine honoured the Ukrainian soldiers who lost their lives in the fight against the Russian invaders.
