Adelaide: State Youth Conference 26 November, 2022, in the presence of Archbishop Makarios of Australia
The Central Youth “St. Stephen the Protomartyr” of the Archdiocesan District of Adelaide is organising, on September 26, 2022, the 10th State Youth Conference.
The theme of the conference is: “Be of good cheer, I have overcome the world” (John 16:33), while His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia will also be present for the conference, and will deliver the keynote address. The conference program also includes interactive workshops, in which issues of concern to the youth will be discussed, as well as a celebratory dinner.
The following is the announcement – invitation of the organisers to young people between the ages of 15 and 30, with useful information regarding the process of registration:
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
On behalf of the Central Youth Committee “St Stephen the Protomartyr”, and with the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia in attendance, it is with great pleasure that we announce the long-awaited 10th South Australian State Youth Conference, which was scheduled to take place two years ago but was postponed due to Covid-19 health restrictions.
This will be the first SA state youth conference in over 12 years and will be hosted by the Parish-Community of Prophet Elias, Norwood, on Saturday 26 November 2022.
We will be blessed to have as our keynote speaker our Father and Archbishop, His Eminence Makarios of Australia. We look forward to being edified by his presentation.
The theme of the Conference will consist of Christ’s life-giving words: “Be of good cheer, I have overcome the world” (John 16:33).
The conference aims to bring the joy of Christ into the life of our young people.
Young people between the ages of 15 and 30 are invited to attend a full day conference which, besides the keynote address by His Eminence, will include interactive workshops on youth-specific topics, followed by a festive dinner.
Registration is open via CYC’s new and improved Conference Registration Form. The conference cost is $60 pp which includes all meals for the day as well as a gift bag to take home. We want everyone to have the opportunity to attend – if you have any financial concerns, please visit our website.
More details are available from the posters and flyers available at your parish, or through your parish’s social media presence, or on our website orthodoxchristianyouthsa.org
Please spread the word to family and friends and encourage all of our young people to be in attendance, all for the glory of God and the salvation of our souls.
