Event in honour of Saint Chrysostomos of Smyrna on the 4th of September in Adelaide
In the series of events that the Holy Archdiocese of Australia organises for the 100th anniversary of the Asia Minor Catastrophe, an event will be held on Sunday, September 4, 2022, at 5:00 p.m., at the Holy Monastery of Saint Nectarios, Croydon Park, on the theme of “Study on the archives of Saint Chrysostomos of Smyrna, martyr for the Holy Faith in Jesus Christ and the freedom of our Homeland”.
The event includes a speech, a choir that will perform Asia Minor songs, church hymns performed by the church choir “Saint John the Damascus,” readings from letters of Saint Chrysostomos of Smyrna, poems, and folk dances performed by the dance group of the Greek school of Saint Nectarios.
The event takes place with the blessing of our Father and Archbishop, His Eminence Makarios of Australia. His Grace Bishop Silouan of Sinope will attend and convey the paternal wishes and blessings of His Eminence.
Everyone is invited to participate in this free event as we honour our ancestors and keep alive the memory of their sacrifices.
