UN denies request to hold Epitaphios procession on Great & Holy Friday at church St. George of Exorino in occupied Famagusta
The Church of Cyprus’ Holy Metropolis of Constantiaa and Ammohostos on Wednesday announced that its request for the holding of the somber Epitaphios procession on Great and Holy Friday, at the church St. George of Exorinos has been rejected by the United Nations.
The church lies in the illegal Turkish occupied area of the city of Famagusta.
In a laconic but poignant announcement, the Holy Metropolis informed the faithful that it had made the request in a timely manner in order to receive approval, while publicising the relevant document sent to the UN.
