40 Day Memorial for the Late Metropolitan Alexandros of Nigeria

On Saturday morning, 29 July 2023, at the Katholikon of the Holy Monastery of Saint Porphyrios in Milesi, Attica, the 40-day memorial service for the greatly missed Metropolitan Alexandros of Nigeria took place.

Prior to this, a Hierarchical Divine Liturgy took place, which was presided over by His Eminence Metropolitan Gregorios of Cameroon and concelebrated by His Grace Bishop Prodromos of Toliara and Southern Madagascar.

During the Memorial Service that followed, His Eminence Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Dodonis officiated (Who was the Elder of the Late Metropolitan, having ordained him to both the Diaconate and Priesthood), while  numerous Hierarchs from both the Patriarchate of Alexandria and the Church of Greece took part. Metropolitan Chrysostomos during his short address was visibly moved as he recalled shared memories of the late Metropolitan Alexandros.

Finally, in the presence of all, Hierarchs – Priests – People, the Trisagion was chanted in front of the Crypt of Metropolitan Alexandros.
