2nd International Scientific Conference of Chalcedon to be held in Constantinople

The 2nd International Scientific Conference of Chalcedon, entitled: “Ecumenical Patriarchate XVII – XVI Centuries – The Era of Reconstruction”, will be held in Constantinople on 23 and 24 October 2023. His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew will give the opening address.

The purpose of the Conference is to highlight the course of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in the first post-Byzantine centuries, a period during which it significantly expanded its presence in other fields beyond the religious one, such as the administration of justice, social welfare, education, the formation of a political ideology.
