Zografeion Lyceum in Constantinople celebrates Feast Day of Apostle Andrew

A grand musical event was organised at the historic Zografeion Lyceum of Constantinople, in memory of Apostle Andrew, the founder of the church of Constantinople, on the occasion of the Thronal Feast Day of the Ecumenical Patriarchate.

The event, held on November 30th under the auspices of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, was a co-production of the Zografeion Lyceum of Constantinople, the Central Union of Greek Municipalities (KEDE) and the Regional Union of Municipalities of Central Macedonia.

The program showcased Byzantine hymns and traditional songs, performed by “Hydymelon” byzantine choir, cultural and folklore groups and a traditional orchestra, under the artistic direction of Ioannis Tsamis.

This year, the Zografeion Lyceum celebrated 131 years since its founding, honouring alumni who graduated 60 years ago as well as more recent graduates.
