(Video) Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew visits the Holy Order of Saint Panteleimon in Chios

On Friday, 6 September 2024, His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, after his visit to the Library of the Holy Metropolis of Chios, of which he was declared honorary president, made his way to the Holy Order of Saint Panteleimon, where he was warmly welcomed by the Board of Directors, delegations in traditional costumes and a crowd of local faithful believers.

The Patriarch was given a tour of the premises of the Order by the President Mr. Vasileios Sarmousakis, in the presence of the Deputy Governor Mr. Pantelis Bournias.

In His official address, Mr. Sarmousakis outlined the multifaceted charitable and educational work of the Foundation, from the Boarding School that operated under the late Professor Andreas Axiotakis, to the donations that led to the creation of Student Hostels and buildings of the Aegean University, as well as the aids to needy students and families.

The visit concluded with the Patriarch’s blessing for the continuation of the Order’s work and his promise of continued support. This day turned out to be a celebration of spirit, solidarity and hope, with the Ecumenical Patriarch being a shining example and a source of inspiration for all.
