Three-year Poly-Hierarchical Memorial for the late Metropolitan Germanos of Tranoupolis

On the Fifth Sunday of Lent, 6 April 2025, His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew was present joined in prayer at the venerable Patriarchal Church of Saint George during the three-year memorial service for the Late Metropolitan Germanos of Tranoupolis.

The Divine Liturgy was presided over by His Eminence Metropolitan Andreas of Forty Churches, who was joined in concelebration by Their Eminences, Metropolitan Ioakeim of Bursa and Metropolitan Theodoros of Seleucia. The Holy Sermon was preached by Patriarchal Deacon, Fr Epiphanios Kamyanovich.

Also present for the Divine Liturgy were Hierarchs of the Throne, Archons of the Great Church of Christ, faithful believers from the city of Constantinople and pilgrims from abroad.

After the dismissal of the Liturgy, His All-Holiness welcomed the many pilgrims from abroad and handed out the antidoron.

A memorial reception followed, during which the Ecumenical Patriarch referred to the personality and great charitable ministry of the late Hierarch Metropolitan Germanos, particularly towards the student youth of the City of Constantinople.

In the afternoon of the same day, the Ecumenical Patriarch presided at the last Lenten Vespers at the Cathedral of the Presentation of the Theotokos in the Stavrodromi district.

The holy sermon was preached by Archimandrite Samuel Efes.

Also present and joined in prayer were His Eminence Metropolitan Andreas of Forty Churches, Hierarchical Vicar of the renowned Stavrodromi Community, His Grace Bishop Benjamin of Tralee, clergy, Archons of the Great Church of Christ, the Community’s Board of Trustees, and a multitude of believers.
