Three-day spiritual event in Canberra
With the Blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, His Grace Bishop Bartholomew of Charioupolis, Archiepiscopal Vicar of Canberra has organised for the Greek Orthodox Christian Society of N.S.W to visit Canberra for a three-day spiritual event.
On Friday 25th August 2023 at the Hellenic Club of Canberra at 7.00pm, the Christian Orthodox Christian Society will perform a theatrical performance titled “From Byzantium to the War of Independence 1821”. The event is free of charge.
On Saturday 26th August 2023 at the church of St Nicholas, Canberra, 6.00pm, there will be Hierarchical Vespers presided over by His Grace Bishop Bartholomew of Charioupolis and chanted by the Choir of the Greek Orthodox Christian Society. Following the service, a Spiritual talk will be delivered, and the Choir will sing hymns and songs.
On Sunday 27th August 2023, Matins and Divine Liturgy will be celebrated by His Grace Bishop Bartholomew of Charioupolis with the sermon delivered by a member of the Greek Orthodox Christian Society. The choir will once again chant on the day. Moreover, there will be an opportunity to purchase books.
