Thessaloniki honoured its patron, Saint Dimitrios the Great Martyr (VIDEO)

On Saturday, 26 October 2024, the Feast Day Service took place at the Church of Saint Dimitrios, the Patron Saint of Thessaloniki, and was followed by a Doxology for the city’s Liberation, attended by the President of the Republic, Katerina Sakellaropoulou, along with representatives from the political and military leadership.

The Divine Liturgy was led by His Eminence Metropolitan Nikodimos of Kassandria, joined by Their Eminences Metropolitans Simeon of Fthiotis, Athinagoras of Ilion, Barnabas of Neapolis, Ierotheos of Limnos, Serapion of Paramythia, Ioustinos of Nea Krini, Chrysostomos of Messinia, Nikandros of Irinoupolis from the Ecumenical Patriarchate, Nikiphoros of Gortys, Filotheos of Thessaloniki, and His Grace Bishop Nikodimos of Skopelos.
