The Theological School of Athens received the sacred skull of Saint David the Elder

The reception of the sacred relic of Saint David the Elder at the Theological School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) took place with great reverence on Tuesday, 18 March 2025.
The Abbot of the Holy Monastery of St. David, Archimandrite Gabriel, and his holy entourage were welcomed by the Dean of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Professor Gerasimos Siassos, the Sub-Dean for Administrative Affairs and Lifelong Learning, Assoc. Professor Christos Karagiannis, the Dean of the School of Theology, Professor Emmanuel D. Karageorgoudis, Professors, Clergy, executives and a large number of students of the School, as well as a large number of faithful believers.
The entire initiative highlights the timeless spiritual ties between the Theological School of Athens and the aforementioned Holy Monastery, and revives the tradition of the venerable skull of the Saint being hosted at the Theological School during the period of Great Lent as a signpost of spiritual struggles that lead to the light of the Resurrection.
The departure of the sacred skull will take place today, Thursday, 20 March 2025.
