The President of the Bulgarian Parliament, Vezhdi Rashidov, visited the Ecumenical Patriarchate on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, with a large Parliamentary Delegation.
The President of the Parliament was warmly welcomed by His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, with whom he had an extensive and substantive discussion.
His wife, Snezha Bahariya Rashidova, and the Bulgarian Ambassador to Turkey, Angel Cholakov, attended their meeting, while Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon and Archimandrite Charalambos Nietzschev, Head of the Bulgarian-speaking Community of Constantinople, attended the Ecumenical Patriarchate.
Subsequently, in the Throne Room, the Ecumenical Patriarch warmly welcomed the President of the Bulgarian Parliament and the members of the Parliamentary Delegation, who consisted of representatives of all parties, and asked them to convey his brotherly greeting to the Patriarch of Bulgaria, Neophytos, and his wishes to the people of their country.
