The Pontiaki Estia of Melbourne holds Christmas celebration
In a festive atmosphere, the Central Union of Melbourne and Victoria “Pontiaki Estia” held its traditional Christmas celebration on Saturday, 14 December 2024, in its event hall.
The entire Committee of the Association, headed by President Mr. Kostas Tseprailidis, attended the event.
In the brief review of the year made by the coordinator and dance teacher Mrs. Parthena Tsombanopoulos, after listing all the performances of the dance groups, she thanked the dance teachers Mr. Michael Vasiliou, Mr. Xenophon Pardalis and Ms. Daphne Gika for their true and loving collaboration. She emphasised the importance of children’s participation in cultural events and thanked the parents for their unwavering support.
Mrs. Tsombanopoulos also thanked the music group that attends the dance lessons every Sunday free of charge and highlighted their contribution to the success of the dance groups. Finally, she wished everyone well the feast day of the Nativity of the God-Man, Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, and expressed her optimism for another creative and constructive year.
This was followed by the distribution of gifts to all the children who attended the event and, then, a traditional Pontic celebration with the musicians: Nikos Psychogios and Dimitris Tsombanopoulos (vocals), Stefanos Levoyiannis, Kostas Psychogios and Petros Tsombanopoulos (lyra), Michael Vasiliou (aggeio) and Alexandros Pilalidis and Kostas Kostidis (daouli).
