The Patriarch of Bulgaria welcomed the Ambassador of Palestine in Sofia

On 18 March 2025, His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel of Bulgaria welcomed His Excellency the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Bulgaria, Dr. Nasri Khalil Salim Abu Jaish.

Also present at the meeting was His Grace Bishop Gerasimos of Melnik, Chief Secretary of the Holy Synod.

The Patriarch expressed his hope that the difficulties and the crisis would soon be overcome.

During the discussion, the dire situation in Palestine was addressed, along with the need for humanitarian aid to support the local population in the Gaza Strip.

Ambassador Abu Jaish expressed his hope that, as soon as conditions permit, Patriarch Daniel will visit the Holy Land. He also emphasised the traditionally good relations between Bulgaria and Palestine.

At the conclusion of the meeting, gifts were exchanged.
