The opening of the first chapel dedicated to Saint Gerasimos the Hymnographer in Naousa
On Sunday, 29 January 2023, His Eminence Metropolitan Panteleimon of Veria, Naousa and Kampania presided over the Divine Liturgy at the Holy Church of the Dormition of the Theotokos in Naousa, where the holy and wonderworking icon of the Mother of God “Pantanassa” is kept.
At the end of the Divine Liturgy, His Eminence Metropolitan Panteleimon, conducted the official blessing and opening of the first Chapel dedicated to the New Saint of our Church, Saint Gerasimos the Hymnographer and the Holy Ancestor of God, Saint Anna, at the skete in which Saint Gerasimos remained and lived out his ascetic struggle.
A multitude of pious Christians from Naousa and pious believers from the wider region, Holy Fathers from Mount Athos and spiritual children of Saint Gerasimos, came to ask for the grace and help of the Saints and to venerate in the Holy Chapel, which is located inside the Holy Church and will cover the needs of the Parish.
His Eminence Metropolitan Panteleimon during his speech, visibly moved, referred to the life of his spiritual father and new Saint of our Church, Saint Gerasimos Mikragiannanitos the Hymnographer, while he did not fail to congratulate the Proistamenos of the Holy Church, Secretary of the Holy Metropolis and Vicar General of Irinoupolis, Archimandrite Arsenios Chaldaiopoulos, and his co-workers, mentioning among other things: “You are the temple of the living God, as God said that I will dwell among them and walk with them”.
