The Holy Diocese of Chora: The Passion Service at the Church of Our Lady ‘Axion Esti’, Northcote

In an atmosphere of reverence and sacred awe, the Holy Service of the Holy Passion of the Lord was celebrated on the evening of Holy Thursday, 17 April 2025, at the Archdiocesan Church of Our Lady “Axion Esti”, in Northcote, in the Holy Diocese of Chora.
The Matins of Great and Holy Friday was presided over by His Grace Bishop Evmenios of Chora, who conveyed to the faithful the paternal wishes and blessing of their Shepherd, His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia.
In his brief but heartfelt message, His Grace emphasised: “Tonight we do not just see a Cross. We see the most radical declaration of love in the history of humanity. Christ loves us unconditionally, forgives our wounds and calls us not only to follow Him, but to live the Resurrection with Him. The Cross is not an end, it is an invitation. It is the hand of God that lifts us from the soil of despair and leads us to the light of eternity.”
