The Feast of the Translation of the Holy Relics of Saint Nektarios at his Monastery in Aegina
On Tuesday, 3 September 2024, with due ecclesiastical splendour, at the Holy Monastery of Saint Nektarios in Aegina, a Poly-Hierarchical Divine Liturgy took place on the occasion of the memory of the translation of the Holy Relics of Saint Nektarios.
The Feast Day Divine Liturgy was presided over by His Eminence Metropolitan Ieronymos of Kalavryta and Aigialeia, and was joined in concelebration by Their Graces, Bishop Chrysostomos of Bukoba and Western Tanzania, Bishop Epiphanios of Talantio, and the local Shepherd, His Eminence Metropolitan Ephraim of Hydra, Spetses and Aegina.
The Holy Sermon was preached by His Eminence Metropolitan Ieronymos of Kalavryta and Aigialeia.
Afterwards, the festive Doxology was performed and followed by the procession of the Holy Icon and the Holy Skull of the Saint around the large Church, while a Trisagion Memorial Service was performed at the grave of the great builder of the Church, Elder Former Metropolitan Ierotheos of Hydra.
Metropolitan Ephraim heartily thanked the Holy Hierarchs for their bright presence, the fathers, the Abbess of the Holy Monastery, Gerontissa Timothei, the authorities, the members of parliament of the region and wished the blessing of Saint Nektarios to the large congregation of faithful believers who flooded the Monastery and the Church of Saint Nektarios who is known and honoured world-wide.
The services were broadcast by the Radio Station of the Church of Greece 89.5fm.
A multi-member choir of chanters chanted the sacred hymns of the feast day under the direction of Archimandrite Father Avgoustinos Zisimos, Preacher, with the participation of University Professor Mr. Achilleas Chaldaiakis.
