The Feast of the Resurrection of Our Lord in Canberra
With the Blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, His Grace Bishop Bartholomew of Charioupolis, the Archiepiscopal Vicar of Canberra celebrated the Resurrection service from the church of St Nicholas in Canberra.
His Grace was assisted by the Parish Priest Father Petros Kipouros. Moreover the service was attended by His Excellency the Ambassador of Greece Mr Georgios Papacostas. During the service the Paschal Message of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios was read in both Greek and English.
At the conclusion His Grace conveyed the love and blessings of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios and wished the congregation abundant blessings for the Feast of the Resurrection of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Moreover Bishop Bartholomew thanked Father Petros for his efforts during Holy and Great Lent and wished him and his family all the very best. His Grace then read the prayer for the blessing of the eggs and distributed them to the faithful who had come to celebrate the Paschal Feast.
