The Feast of the Akathist Hymn at the Holy Monastery of Dionysiou, Mount Athos

The feast of the Akathist Hymn was celebrated with devotion at the Holy Monastery of Saint Dionysios, on Mount Athos. His Eminence Elder Metropolitan Apostolos of Derkoi, having accepted the invitation of the aforementioned Holy Monastery and its Abbot, presided over the Feast of the Virgin Mary, known as the Akathist Hymn, whose holy icon is kept there.

The Holy Vigil began on Friday afternoon, 4 April, presided over by Elder Metropolitan Apostolos, and concluded on the morning of Saturday, 5 April 2025.

The Divine Liturgy was attended by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Interior of Greece, Mr. Athanasios Balerbas, hieromonks and monks from other Holy Monasteries and Cells, and many pilgrims to Mount Athos.

After the end of the Feast Day Divine Liturgy, a monastic meal followed, where His Eminence, after thanking the Abbot of the Holy Monastery for the invitation, spoke about the life and person of the Most Holy Theotokos, also conveying the wishes and blessings of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew.
