The feast of Saint Savvas was celebrated at the Patriarchate of Alexandria

In a festive atmosphere and with due splendour, the memory of our Holy Father Savvas the Sanctified was celebrated this year in Alexandria.

Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria and All Africa presided over the Great Patriarchal and Festal Vespers, while Patriarchal Vicar of Alexandria, Metropolitan Narcissus of Pelusium, Metropolitan Germanos of Tamiathus, and the Holy Clergy of Alexandria attended the Divine Liturgy.

On Monday, December 5, 2022, Patriarch Theodore II presided over the Orthros and Divine Liturgy at the Katholikon of the Holy Patriarchal Monastery, which was concelebrated by Metropolitan Gabriel of Leontopolis, Metropolitan Narcissus of Pelusium and Metropolitan Germanos of Tamiathus. The Principal of the Holy Patriarchal School of Saint Athanasios, Archimandrite Isaac Tsapoglou and clergymen of the Patriarchate co-officiated the service.

In words of paternal love, the Patriarch addressed the faithful, to whom he wished that Saint Savvas, who is celebrating today, but also Saint Nicholas, who will celebrate tomorrow, would be a consolation, blessing, and warmth in the lives of all the faithful and their families.
