The Feast Day of the Patriarchal Monastery of Saint Anastasia the Deliverer from Poisons in Chalkidiki
On the occasion of the feast day of the glorious Great Martyr, Saint Anastasia the Deliverer from Poisons, the Holy Patriarchal and Stavropegic Monastery of Saint Anastasia, which is located in Chalkidiki, celebrated the feast with due ecclesiastical splendour.
The Great Vespers were officiated by His Eminence Metropolitan Apostolos of Miletus, who is also the Abbot of the Holy Monastery.
On Sunday, 22 December 2024, in the Katholikon (Main Church) of the Monastery, the feast day Divine Liturgy took place and was presided over by His Eminence Metropolitan Nikodimos of Kassandreia and Polygyros, who was joined in concelebration by His Eminence Metropolitan Theoklitos of Ierissos, Mount Athos and Ardamerion.
Also present for the Divine Liturgy and joined in prayer from the Holy Altar were Their Eminences, Metropolitan Apostolos of Miletus and Metropolitan Panteleimon of Vryoula.
His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew sent a Patriarchal Letter to the Abbot of the Monastery, Metropolitan Apostolos of Miletus, in which he notes, among other things: “The memory of the heroic, poor-loving, ascetic and sacrificial Great Martyr reminds all of you of the value of unconditional dedication to Christ and to the ministry of His brothers and sisters.” The Ecumenical Patriarch declared himself “present in spirit” and emphasised the value that the Church places on the memory of the saints, characterising everything that surrounds them, from the churches and chapels to their feasts and Synaxaria (Lives of the Saints), as a “source of existential enrichment and hope” for the faithful.
His Eminence Metropolitan Apostolos of Miletus, Abbot of the Holy Patriarchal and Stavropegic Monastery of Saint Anastasia, the deliverer from poisons, officiated at the Vespers of the After-feast and the Holy Supplication Service to Saint Anastasia.
