The Feast Day of Saint Spyridon in Halki

On Monday, 12 December 2022, at the celebrating Holy Patriarchal Skete of Saint Spyridon, His Eminence Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Myra, Patriarchal Commissioner, officiated at the festive Matins and Divine Liturgy, in which the blessing of the Five Loaves and the Kollyva of the Saint took place.

Present also, among others, at the Divine Liturgy, were His Eminence Archbishop Nektarios of Anthidon, Commissioner of the Holy Sepulchre in Constantinople, His Grace Bishop Kassianos of Aravissos, Abbot of the Holy Monastery of the Holy Trinity, Halki, the President of the Halki Educational Association in Athens, Mr. Periklis Paschalidis, the President and members of the re-elected Committee of the Community of Saint Nicholas, Halki, as well as several faithful believers from the Princes’ Islands and Constantinople.

During his address to the Patriarchal Commissioner, the Abbot, His Grace Bishop Kassianos referred to the history of the Skete as well as its recent renovation, expressing his thanks to those who helped to complete the project. In response, His Eminence Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Myron, expressed his due satisfaction with the results of the renovation project, referring both to the personality and virtues of Saint Spyridon, as well as to his memories, as a student of the Holy Theological School of Halki, and his walks to the Skete, he then wished to the congregation a blessed upcoming feast of Christmas and a Happy New Year.

This was followed by a reception in the Skete and then a festive dinner at the Holy Monastery of the Holy Trinity.
