The Feast Day of Epiphany Celebrated at the Church of St Nektarios in Perth
The Feast Day of Epiphany was celebrated at the Church of St Nektarios in Dianella which is located on the same grounds as the Archdiocesan District of Perth offices.
The morning commenced with the Matins Service and Hierarchical Divine Liturgy. This was then followed with the Great Blessing of the Waters officiated by His Grace Bishop Elpidios of Kyanea.
Following the reading of the Gospel His Grace spoke about the feast of the day and focused specifically on the verse, “This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased” (Matthew 3:17).
And the conclusion of the service, His Grace conveyed to all the paternal love and blessings of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia and also wished Parish Priest Fr John Athanasiou every blessing from above for his forthcoming Name Day on the 7th of January.
Finally, His Grace also reminded the faithful that this year’s retrieval of the Holy Cross from the Waters will be taking place at Matilda Bay opposite the University of Western Australia on Sunday the 8th of January at 12.30pm.
