The Ecumenical Patriarchate on the celebration of the Divine Liturgy at Panagia Soumela

The Ecumenical Patriarchate confirms with an official announcement, the granting of permission for the celebration of the Divine Liturgy for the Feast Day of the Dormition of the Theotokos, at the historic Monastery of Panagia Soumela in Pontus.

In particular, the announcement of the Grand Protosyncellus states:

“We are happy to announce that following a recent decision by the Turkish authorities, permission has been granted to hold a Patriarchal Divine Liturgy on the feast of the Dormition of the Theotokos (August 15) at the Holy Monastery of Panagia Soumela”.
