The Ecumenical Patriarchate honors Saint John Chrysostom (PHOTO)
On the feast of the transfering of the Holy Relics of St. John Chrysostom, Archbishop of Constantinople, His Holiness the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, officiated, today, January 27, 2022, from the Parathronion, during the Divine Liturgy, at the All-holy Patriarchal Church of St George, Phanar.
According to an old tradition, the icon of the Saint and the Patriarchal staff were placed on the Patriarchal Throne, already on the eve of the feast, while his Holy Relics, which were returned a few years ago from Rome, were exhibited on the solea for veneration by the faithful.
Their Eminences, Metropolitan Stefanos of Kallioupolis and Madytos and Metropolitan Maximos of Silivria , His Grace BishopAdrianos of Alikarnassos , and faithful from the city were in attendance for the divine services.
Yesterday, His All Holiness, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew officiated during the Holy Vespers of the feast, during which Metropolitan Athenagoras of Kydonia , Metropolitan Symeon of Fthiotida and Metropolitan Ioakeim of Prussa were also in attendance.
