The Ecumenical Patriarch honoured the former Prime Minister of Bulgaria, Mr. Boyko Borissov

His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew awarded the Cross of Pammakaristos to former Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov for his support to the Mother Church during His All-Holiness’ recent trip to Sofia, where he visited on the occasion of the election and enthronement of the new Patriarch Daniel of Bulgaria.

On Sunday morning, 30 June 2024, the Ecumenical Patriarch visited the National Assembly building, where he met with the Speaker of Parliament, Rania Nazarian, and Mr. Boyko Borissov, former Prime Minister and leader of the GERB party, whom he honoured with the Cross of Pammakaristos for his support to the Mother Church.
