The Consul of Greece visits the Russian-speaking Community in Constantinople
On Sunday, 3 November 2024, the Consul of Greece, Mr. Theofilos Georgakis, was invited and welcomed by the Russian-speaking Community of Constantinople.
The Consul participated in the Divine Liturgy, and read The Symbol of Faith and The Lord’s Prayer in Greek and at the end of the Divine Liturgy, the Parish Priest of the Community, The Grand Preacher Archimandrite Panaretos, on behalf of the assistant priests and the Russian-speaking congregation, addressed and welcomed the official visitor. Above all, he thanked him for all the help and support of the Greek Consulate to this special community of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, in terms of the origin of its parishioners and the Liturgical rite which it follows.
In the reply of the Consul, Mr. Georgakis addressed words of love and fondness to all the faithful believers of the community and assured those present of the undivided support of himself and the Greek Consulate.
This was followed by a tour of the community’s premises and a festive lunch was held in honour of the Consul’s visit.
