The Celebration of Great and Holy Saturday in Perth

With the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, His Grace Bishop Elpidios of Perth, officiated at the Vesperal-Divine Liturgy of St Basil the Great on Holy Saturday at the Church of St Nektarios located next door to the Diocese of Perth offices.

On Holy Saturday our focus is on the Tomb of Christ. This is no ordinary grave. It is not a place of corruption, decay and defeat. It is life-giving (zoopoios) a source of power, victory and liberation as symbolised by the scattering of bay leaves throughout the church.

At the conclusion of the service, His Grace wished everyone a blessed and holy resurrection.
