The Akathist Hymn at the historic Sacred Spring of Panagia Göksu, in the Metropolis of Chalcedon

On Friday, 4 April 2025, at the historic and wonder-working Sacred Spring of Panagia Göksu, in the Metropolis of Chalcedon, His Eminence Elder Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon officiated at the Service of the Akathist Hymn.

Pilgrims from various areas of the city and 30 students from the 41st Primary School of Thessaloniki attended, who were accompanied by their principal, teachers and parents.

The presence of the young people, who during the Service chanted the Akathist Hymn, the Dismissal Hymn of Saint Dimitrios and the Dismissal Hymn of the feast of Pentecost, created a moving but at the same time joyful atmosphere.

After the Service, during the reception, the children sang various songs of M. Theodorakis, M. Hadjidakis and a traditional song from the Dodecanese.
