Sydney: The Feast Day of the Synaxis of All Saints of Larissa at the Church of the Resurrection of Christ in Kogarah
On Sunday, 3rd November 2024, with the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, the Synaxis of All Saints of Larissa was celebrated at the Church of the Resurrection of Christ, in the suburb of Kogarah, Sydney, in the presence of a large number of devout believers.
The Matins Service and the Divine Liturgy were celebrated with due byzantine splendour and were presided over by His Grace Bishop Christodoulos of Magnesia, Proistamenos of the Church.
Following the Divine Liturgy, the congregation took part in a moving procession of the Holy Icon of All Saints of Larissa. The procession was organised by the Pan-Thessalian Association “Karaiskakis” of New South Wales, highlighting the strong bonds between the Church and the Thessalian community of Sydney, especially as both Bishop Christodoulos of Magnesia and Fr. Athanasios Giatsios hail from the city of Larissa.
In his address, Bishop Christodoulos conveyed the paternal wishes and blessings of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia to Mr Asterios Tsintzas, president of the Pan-Thessalian Association of NSW, along with the association’s committee and all its members. His Grace expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the association for its unwavering dedication to the parish and its valuable contribution to the celebration of this feast.
