Sydney: The Annual Sunday School Picnic 2022
With the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, the Annual Sunday School Picnic for 2022 was held at Gough Whitlam Park in Earlwood, on Monday 3rd of October 2022. In an atmosphere of joy and enthusiasm, more than 350 children attended the picnic plus teachers, parents, and many priests from various parishes around Sydney.
Representing His Eminence Archbishop Makarios was His Grace Bishop Iakovos of Miletoupolis who conveyed the paternal blessings and love of His Eminence to the children, teachers, and parents. The children performed three Christian songs for His Grace who then spoke to the children with much love. His Grace highlighted to the children the immense power of prayer to our Lord and Panagia.
The children participated in many games, activities, and races that were organised by the Sunday School teachers. Different Sunday School parishes teamed up to form alliances, with the St Euphemia Bankstown and Sts Raphael, Nicholas and Irene Liverpool alliance scoring the most points on the day to be crowned the Sunday School Picnic Champions for 2022!
