Supplication Service at the tomb of Saint Cyril by the Metropolitan of Italy
The Supplication Canon of the Thessalonian Saints and Equal-to-the-Apostles Cyril and Methodius, Enlighteners of the Slavs and Co-Protectors of Europe, was chanted in the crypt of the ancient Roman Basilica of Saint Clement, where the tomb of Saint Cyril is located.
His Eminence Metropolitan Polycarp of Italy officiated over the Supplication Service, with the participation of the Vicar General of Rome and the other clergy of the local Metropolis in the city and region of Rome.
The event was organised by the Embassy of Greece in the Vatican and was attended by Ambassadors and other diplomats, in addition to the Holy See and representatives of the Secretariat of the Vatican State.
