Pope Francis shows signs of improvement amid ongoing treatment for pneumonia

Pope Francis continues to receive medical treatment for double pneumonia at the Agostino Gemelli Catholic Hospital in Rome, where he remains under close observation.

According to a statement from the Vatican press office on Wednesday morning, the Pope’s heart is responding very positively to treatment, and he is now breathing without the need for permanent oxygen support. Additionally, he has been able to get out of bed, signaling a gradual recovery.

Pope Francis is currently staying in the designated papal apartment on the hospital’s tenth floor, where he is limiting his interactions to only a few close aides.

Further updates on his health condition are expected to be released later in the day.
