Polytechnic building in Athens opened its gates on Friday for commemoration events
The historic building of the National Technical University of Athens (Metsovion Polytechnic) on Patission street opened its doors on Friday for the three-day events marking the 51st anniversary since the student uprising of 1973, against the military junta ruling Greece at that time.
According to a relevant decision, on Friday and Saturday, November 15-16, the Patission building will open at 09:00 and close at 20:00 “or even earlier, if deemed appropriate, for the security of the complex by the Celebration Committee”, while on Sunday, November 17, the gates of the Polytechnic will open again at 09:00 and are scheduled to close at 13:00, in order for the established march to the US embassy to take place.
In addition, according to the information from the NTUA, the Senate of the Polytechnic will be in continuous session from Friday morning until Monday morning, while there will be no classes at the NTUA on Friday.
