Pilgrims from Greece visit Smyrna

In the last week, a group of clergy and laity from the Holy Metropolis of Thessaliotida and Phanariofersalon, led by their local Shepherd, His Eminence Metropolitan Timotheos, visited the coasts of Asia Minor and Smyrna.
On Friday, November 4, they visited the Holy Metropolis and the Orthodox Community of Smyrna, where the Protocyncellus of the Holy Metropolis of Thessaliotida and Phanariophersalon celebrated the Divine Liturgy. After this, His Eminence Metropolitan Bartholomew of Smyrna, spoke appropriately, welcoming with cordiality and honour the presence of His Eminence Metropolitan Timotheos, who referred to the importance of Smyrna for Orthodoxy and the Nation with clear and moving words, mentioning in particular the Asia Minor origin of part of his flock.
In addition, on Sunday, October 30, a group of clergy and young collaborators of the Chalkidiki Camps of the Holy Metropolis of Neapolis and Stavroupolis attended the Divine Liturgy conducted by His Eminence Metropolitan Bartholomew of Smyrna in the Holy Church of Saint Fotini, following the paternal exhortation of the local Shepherd, a native of Asia Minor, His Eminence Metropolitan Varnavas. After the dismissal of the Holy Divine Liturgy they had the opportunity to meet and socialise with the members of the Community.
On both occasions, His Eminence Metropolitan Bartholomew referred to the current pastoral work towards the multinational flock of the Orthodox Community of Smyrna and its recent history.
