Perth WA: End-of-Year Sunday School Performance at Sts Constantine and Helene
On Sunday the 24th of November 2024, with the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, His Grace Bishop Elpidios of Perth presided over the Matins and Hierarchical Divine Liturgy on the 13th Sunday of Luke at the Church of Sts Constantine and Helene in Perth WA.
At the end of the Divine Liturgy, His Grace conducted a Hierarchical Trisagion service for the late Archbishop Stylianos of blessed memory, coinciding with the Feast of St Stylianos of Paphlagonia on Tuesday 26th of November.
Following the conclusion of the service, a celebratory Christmas morning tea was held in the hall next door to the Church in the presence of His Grace.
During this morning tea, the Sunday School students of the Parish, under the guidance of their teachers lead by Presbytera Stamatia Gerovasilis, performed their end-of-year Christmas concert. The children chanted the Apolytikion of Sts Constantine and Helene, recounted the narrative of the Nativity of our Lord and sang Christmas carols.
The children were then blessed and presented with Christmas gifts from His Grace. Parish Priest, Father Terry Gerovasilis, then presented His Grace with a Christmas gift on behalf of the Parish.
Also in attendance at the church service and morning tea was the new Greek Consul in Perth Mrs Eleni Georgopoulou and her family. Father Terry also presented the new Consul with a Christmas gift from the Parish.
His Grace Bishop Elpidios of Perth welcomed the Greek Consul, thanked the children for their performance and conveyed the paternal love and blessings of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia.
