Perth: The Annual Saint Nektarios Feast Day Luncheon

The annual church Luncheon, organised by the Parish of St. Nektarios in Perth, took place on Sunday, 12 November 2023, after the Divine Liturgy which was presided over by His Grace Bishop Elpidios of Kyanea.

The Luncheon, which was hosted in the function centre of the premises of the Archdiocesan District of Perth, has become as an annual event of the Parish of Saint Nektarios and is organised on the Sunday after the feast of the Patron Saint of the Parish, with the aim of raising funds for the needs of the Holy Church.

This year’s Luncheon coincided with the anniversary of the 10 years of ministry of Fr. John Athanasiou at the Parish of Saint Nektarios. His Grace Bishop Elpidios, on behalf of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, offered Fr. John a small gift and flowers for his personal anniversary, after the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy on the same day.

The Parish extended its heartfelt thanks to all its volunteers and especially to Mrs. Katerina Dimitriou, who was the driving force behind this initiative and worked tirelessly to ensure its smooth implementation as planned.

Finally, His Grace Bishop Elpidios of Kyanea conveyed to all those present at the lunch the paternal love and blessings of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia.
