Patriarchate of Jerusalem: The Feast of Saint Moses the Ethiopian in Rafidia
On Sunday, August 26th / September 8th, 2024, on the commemoration of Saint Moses the Ethiopian, a Hierarchical Divine Liturgy was celebrated in the homonymous Church in Rafidia of Samaria, presided over by His Eminence Archbishop Aristovoulos of Madaba with con-celebrants, the Hegoumen of the Shrine Archimandrite Leontios and the Hegoumen of Jacob’s well Archimandrite Ioustinos.
Before Holy Communion, His Eminence delivered a sermon, extolling the simplicity of Saint Moses, pointing out that the virtue of simplicity opens the doors of Paradise and that the faithful Christian who has simplicity through regular Church attendance and access to the Holy Sacraments feels already within him the Kingdom of Heaven.
After the end of the Divine Liturgy, the Hegoumen Archimandrite Leontios, and the attendants of the parish of Rafidia hosted a traditional feast day meal for the Fathers and the congregation.
