Patriarchate of Jerusalem: The Feast Day of Saint Spyridon in Azotus

On Wednesday, 12th/25th December 2024, a Divine Liturgy was celebrated by His Eminence Archbishop Aristovoulos of Madaba in the newly established parish of Saint Philip the Deacon in the ancient city of Azotus (modern-day Ashdod), on the feast day of our Holy Father Spyridon, Bishop of Trimythous, the Wonderworker.

His Eminence conveyed the greetings and blessings of His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem, assuring the faithful that, through their patience, with the Grace of God, and through the intercessions of the Holy and Glorious Apostle Philip the Deacon, the time will come for the construction of a Sacred Church in the city of Azotus for the spiritual support and sanctification of the large number of Orthodox Christians residing there.
