Patriarchal Horostasia at the Church of the Holy Trinity of Stavrodromi, Constantinople
This year, the feast of the Holy Spirit was celebrated with the appropriate splendour in the celebrating Church of the Holy Trinity of Stavrodromi in Constantinople.
The Festive Divine Liturgy was presided over by His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, with the presence of His Eminence Archbishop Gintaras Grušas of Vilnius, President of the Council of Episcopal Synods of the Catholic Church in Europe, in which believers from Constantinople participated, as well as visitors from Greece. The Panegyric Homily of the day was delivered by the Grand Syngellos Archimandrite Father Iakovos.
The Hierarchical Head of the Community of Stavrodromi, His Eminence Metropolitan Andreas of Forty Churches, welcomed the Ecumenical Patriarch to the Community, while the President of the Community, Mr. Giorgos Papaliaris, referring to the actions of the Supervisory Committee, spoke on the one hand about the works being carried out in the vicinity of the Holy Church of the Entrance of the Theotokos for the restoration of the cells expressing the desire that the Ecumenical Patriarch be guided to see the words during the celebration of the Feast of the Entrance of the Theotokos in November, but also for the effort to utilise for the benefit of the community and the Greek People of the building that once housed the Primary School of Nane. On the other hand, he spoke about the project of continuing the operation of the Soup Kitchen that the Community has undertaken and about the Creative Workshop.
His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew in his response, noted the importance of the feast day and the need for the unity of the church. Just as the three hypostasis of God are indivisible, so the Christian Church develops a dialogue of unity in an attempt to overcome the obstacles created by the different interpretation of the position of the Holy Spirit in the trinity of God.
Finally, he once again praised the work carried out in the Great Community of Stavrodromi both by the clergy, His Eminence Metropolitan Andreas of Forty Churches, His Grace Bishop Benjamin of Tralleon, Father Nikodimos, and by the supervisory committee.
The celebration of the day ended in the courtyard of the Holy Church, with the offering of food and refreshments to invited guests and the faithful.
