Parliamentary elections in Greece – Electoral process in Australia and New Zealand

Greek citizens, residents of Australia, having successfully completed their registration through the platform of the Ministry of the Interior apodimoi.gov.gr, are invited to vote for the parliamentary elections on Saturday, June 24th, 2023 from 07.00 to 19.00.

The electoral process for residents of New South WalesQueenslandthe Australian Capital Territory and New Zealand will be held at the premises of the Consulate General of Greece in Sydney (Level 2, 219-223 Castlereagh Street, Sydney NSW 2000). See HERE for the Election Program (In Greek only), which lists the combinations and the names of the candidates announced by the A1 Department of the Supreme Court, as well as the table of electoral divisions in which Greek voters are going to vote.

The electoral process for residents of VictoriaSouth AustraliaWestern Australia and North Territory will be held at the premises of the Consulate General of Greece in Melbourne (37-39 Albert Road, Melbourne Victoria, 3004). See HERE for the Election Program (In Greek only), which lists the combinations and the names of the candidates announced by the A1 Department of the Supreme Court, as well as the table of electoral divisions in which Greek voters are going to vote.

Voters should have with them a Greek Police Identity Card or a Greek Passport.

Additionally, on Wednesday, June 14 at 12.00public draws will be held at the premises of the Consulate General of Greece in Sydney and the Consulate General of Greece in Melbourne, to select the members of the electoral committees and their deputies, among the registered voters in the respective special electoral rolls. The members of the electoral committees will be notified via email of their nomination.

It is noted that with a Joint Ministerial Decision, the temporary exemption from the control of the military status of Greeks abroad (except deserters), who will travel to Greece to exercise their right to vote, is defined.
