Palm Sunday celebrated with reverence at the Ecumenical Patriarchate

Palm Sunday was celebrated with solemnity and spiritual devotion at the Ecumenical Patriarchate in the Phanar.
His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew presided over the Divine Liturgy, concelebrated by Their Eminences, Metropolitan Meliton of Philadelphia, Metropolitan Irenaios of Myriophyton and Peristasis, Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Myra, Metropolitan Theoleptos of Iconium, Metropolitan Ioakeim of Bursa, and Metropolitan Theodoros of Seleucia.
In accordance with the tradition, the homily was delivered by Deacon Oikoumenios Amanatidis, Undersecretary of the Holy and Sacred Synod.
The service was attended by Archons of the Ecumenical Throne, local faithful from Constantinople, and pilgrims from abroad, including groups from the Society of Friends of the Numismatic Museum and the Panhellenic Association of Physical Education Graduates.
Following the Dismissal, the Patriarch offered blessed palm branches to the entire congregation.
In the evening, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew presided over the Service of the Bridegroom (Nymphios).
